I don’t have specific skill in sport that I can be proud of. Basic skill in swimming and tennis. Better in badminton, gymnastic, and softball. Zero in skating/skiing. No one to compete your father and his ‘sportive’ big family.

But son, I have finished 5 km in 30 minutes. It’s something that even your father hasn’t done (yet) in his entire life! LOL. It is a target I have put to myself for quite some time and I finally made it. When I say ‘made it’, it means setting a target within a period of time, and getting through all the required process to be there. Not just doing whatever it takes to be at the finish line. I don’t just run 5 km, lose my breath, and faint :D Trust me, it felt better when you knew you can make it and you finally made it strong!

Enough about me.

Your grand father has been back on the track. Yes baby, he was a real runner. He used to do 10k a day. Every day. Ten years behind. Seeing me running, motivated him like crazy. What? My baby girl? One lazy ass is now running on a regular basis?? That what probably crossed his mind when he first learned it. As the competitive mode arose, he joined the race and finished almost 2 minutes after me. My mom told me he runs every day ever since (even myself, I only run every other day) and keep improving his pace and distance. “My next target is to finish faster or at least same as you Mia!” Ok bapak, whatever you say. But remember, we have to finish it strong AND healthy. It’s after all the paramount rule of the game.

Your father is finally profiting the free of charge gym facilities at the office. He runs with me every weekend. Not at the same pace, nor distance yet but I like the spirit. You know your father. He never bluffs, but when he sets for something, it’s for real ;) (WELL I REALLY DO HOPE SO AND I HOPE YOU READ IT DEAR).

Your grandmother have started to cook healthier food for her and your grandfather, and walk around the house complex 45 minutes every morning.

Everyone his own pace and way of doing.

So son, it is never about yourself and never will be. I will try my best to maintain what already been done now. I hope everyone around me and whom I love will do the same. When will you start? :)

Gros bises,

Maman
