Small note from singapore

My flight to jakarta is delayed for i dont know how long so i got few more minutes to write a post here.

Yesterday i met colleague who happened to be a runner. An athlete who finished libyan 200km ultra trail. Something beyond my imagination.

Myself, a true debutante, asking him what to do and what not to do to improve my running skill.
The two messages i captured:
First, just run as far and as long as you can. Worry less the pace, it will come along with the endurance you build step by step.
He told me i've been running too fast. I should lower down my speed from 10-10.5km/hr to around 8 km/hr and run longer instead.
Second, dont underestimate hydration. Even during short runs. It is very important for your performance and recovery.

So this morning i ran by singapore river, passing clark quay, all the way down to the esplanade, make a turn at marina bay sands. I kept on running to get back to the hotel. I wasnt bringing with me the phone. I did wear my husband's gps watch but it didnt work. The only thing i monitored was the time cause i had to get back at 730 to catch my taxi to the airport.
I ran at my most comfortable pace, and feeling great during the whole run. That feeling is even greater than hitting my personal best on 5k. Seems like i got his point ;)

In 2 days i'll be racing my first 10k race. As it is my first race, i'll try to keep in mind the same objective: running at my comfortable pace :)

Little by little, make mistakes and learn from them.
